Sindin under fire for asking Pairin to step down

KOTA KINABALU:

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Petagas and Tanjung Am Divisions have lashed out at PBS Kiulu Division Chief Sindin Ranggangon for asking Party President Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan to step down. PBS Petagas Chief Sylvester Sidion said he was disappointed with Sindin for making such a statement and that the ltter had lbrgotten what Pairin had done for the eop1e and Party. “This is a case of ‘kacang lupakan kulit’,” he said, adding the PBS Petagas Division’s support for Pairin had never wavered and would continue to be strong. According to Sylvester further, the Petagas Division may be not prominent but the hard work of the members has resulted in 70 new memberships. “We hereby pledge our continuous support for Party President Datuk Seri Pairin,” he said at the two divisions’ joint annual general meeting which was held at the Airport View Hotel yesterday and officiated by Pairin. His Tanjung Aru counterpart, Edward Yong Oui Fah, was more critical of Sindin and said the latter was not in the right place to make that statement. “This statement was made by a person who cannot even manage his Kiulu Division and who wanted to be the PBS candidate for Kiulu in the general election,” he said. The Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister cum Tanjung Aru Assemblyman said the division supported PBS Secretary General Datuk Radin Malleh’s recommendation that disciplinary action be taken against Sindin. He also pledged the Division’s support for Pairin.
